A parallel import is intended to increase competition in the Israeli market. Importers are required to obtain a license or approval based on suitability before importing cosmetics that are under parallel import. There are two tracks for parallel import
The first track is for sensitive products that are toothpastes (i.e. Colgate), mouthwashes (i.e Listerine), various baby products (i.e. Johnson & Johnson products) and more…
The second track is a parallel import based on a match with a reference cosmetic as of 01.01.2023 for regular products. It includes 15 types of products: aftershave, aluminum-free roll-on deodorants, aluminum-free deodorant sticks, compressed powder, compressed blush, compressed shimmers, salicylic acid-free foot cream, non-gel nail polish, leg wax, shampoo, hair conditioner, body soap, body lotion, hand cream, hair cream.
In parallel import of this type, there is an extensive interaction with the Standards Institute and the Ministry of Health.
